It wasn't too long before the clouds disappeared, and the beautiful sun started beaming down on us! Even for a 'holiday weekend', traffic has not been outlandish, and we've covered lots of territory since we left home!
We stopped for fuel again in Rock Port Missouri and stretched our legs. We really haven't noticed any huge gasoline prices, and this area has regular going for $3.72 a gallon. The look on people's faces when 4 rigs pull into a lot together and up to the pumps, is funny. It's like they are saying to themselves, "Let me hurry up and get out of the way." :-)
We traveled on down the road, and as we crossed into Iowa, there were fields upon fields of black-eyed susans! Beautiful yellow flowers bobbing their heads in the breeze, as if to say welcome to Iowa. We also saw signs, here and there, to remind us that farmers feed the country. Even with some of the fields dry from no rain in this area, we had to be grateful and mindful of the contribution the farmers give us everyday. We are so blessed to have people who toil the land, work from daylight to dark, to get food to market, so we can all have food on our tables! Beautiful territory in it's own way!
Our stop for the night is Council Bluffs Iowa, and we just HAD to stop at the Horseshoe Casino, and how lucky we are that they had an RV park, that we could have those wonderful things called electricity and water to help us in our stay! We found an area that had some sites all together, and we were able to back into every other spot so, boy, do we ever have elbow room!! We got all set up, got our site numbers and headed to the RV registration to give them our money for our stay.
With that out of the way, we all had dinner, and had our 'meeting' to plan out our next days travels!
We all settled in for a good nights sleep, dreaming of adventures the road!Next stop - Mitchell South Dakota!!!
